Curriculum

When you think of stretching your limits, what comes to mind? Think of a challenging course designed to give you all the tools you need to be successful in the paralegal field. That pretty much sums up the curriculum at AIPS. We’ll give you your money’s worth and much more. You’ll be well prepared for top-notch positions in law firms, legal departments, and a variety of other employment settings.

So how does our curriculum work?
It’s accredited. You’ll study a program that has met—and often exceeded—high educational standards set by our accrediting agency, Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). ACCET has continuously accredited AIPS since 1981.

It takes 12 months. You’ll complete one substantive law subject per month (except December) for a total of 25 semester credits.

It stretches your mind. You’ll be pushed beyond your limitations and learn more than you ever thought you would. Don’t just take our word for it—check out our graduate success stories to learn how AIPS has changed lives and impacted futures.

It includes a specialty concentration. You’ll choose from one of four areas of specialty concentration. Specialization in a particular area will give you an edge in a competitive field and make you more attractive to employers. All AIPS students may complete the Legal Technology specialization in addition to a substantive specialty track.

It’s taught by expert faculty. You’ll learn from talented attorneys and practicing paralegals in the field. Our faculty bring extensive experience in the law and a broad range of legal backgrounds to the online classroom. In addition to sharing their expertise with you, they are available to answer your questions via personal messages, classroom, study halls, and phone calls.

It’s personalized. Our low student to teacher ratio of 15:1 ensures that you receive one-on-one attention from your instructors, as well as staff members.

It integrates national certification preparation. You’ll be encouraged to choose a professional certification track which will prepare you for one of the two national credentialing examinations—the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE) and the Certified Legal Assistant (CLA). Our prep courses are built into the curriculum and are included in your tuition.
